My Morning Makeup Routine

The saying is true for me that when you look good, you feel good. Although it’s an extra step in my morning routine, I do take the time to put on makeup before I go to work. My routine isn’t exactly 5 minutes (honestly I don’t know how girls do it), but it’s not time-consuming either! I keep my morning makeup routine simple and streamlined; I’m usually out the door an hour after I wake up.

My Morning Makeup Routine

Eyebrows:

I start off with my eyebrows, which thankfully I don’t have to do too much. I mainly use eyebrow pencils to make my eyebrows darker and to fill in some patches. I alternate between two different pencils, Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in the shade ebony and for a cheaper alternative, NYX Micro Brow in the shade black. Once I have my eyebrows how I want them, I move on to my next step.
Concealer:
Concealing is where I spend the majority of my time. I don’t wear foundation as I don’t think I need it on an everyday basis. I do suffer from dark under eye circles and need something to cover it up. For my morning makeup routine, I use three different products. I realize this may seem overkill for some of you, but my under eyes have never looked better since I found this combo. I start off with actual concealing with e.l.f. Cosmetics HD Lifting Concealer and I use a shade that matches my skin; right now I’m using the shade medium. Next, I use two different shades from Wet n Wild Photo Focus Concealer; the first shade I use is Medium Peach to give more concealing and brightening, and the second shade I use is Medium Tawny. This trio really gives me the coverage that I need to cover my under eyes and both of these products have become my holy grail.
Under Eye Setting Powder

Finishing up with my under eyes, I use the best under eye setting powder I have ever used, Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Translucent. I’ve tried many different setting powders under my eyes and I have not found one that I like better than Rimmel’s translucent powder. It provides a bit more coverage, smoothes out the concealer, and sets it in place. Definitely a holy grail and love that it’s from the drugstore.
Mascara
I’ve written about my favorite mascaras so it’s no surprise that I don’t leave the house without a coat or two (or three) of mascara. I try not to use any of my pricier mascaras for work or any every day look so at the moment I’ve discovered and love L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara. I absolutely think it’s a dupe for Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara and at a much cheaper price point. I’ve talked about formulas in my mascara favorites post and I love a dry formula. L’Oreal’s mascara is on the drier end but it doesn’t cause my lashes to flake or clump up. It gives my lashes nice volume and length and it darkens the lashes amazingly!
Bronzer

I’m not too picky with my bronzers, I mainly look for something that isn’t orangey and will give some color back to my face after concealing. For a day look, I’ll use my e.l.f. bronzer palette which comes with a variety of different shades. This is great as I’ll become tanner during the summer months and paler during the winter months.

I’m good to go after all of these steps and in a very quick time, I look put together and ready to start my day! Let me know in the comment section what your go to morning makeup routine looks like!
